THE Bobbi Lane

Bobbistock 2013

Wow, its over..the 2013 Summer season here in Down East Maine is on its way out the door. Winter is just around the corner. Bummer dude. BUT, this past weekend was annual events to usher out the warm months and basically party hearty! The Bobbistock “Blues Cruise” train ride followed the next day by Bobbistock…….music overload, as it should be! The train cruise was always a fantastic time with Bobbi Lane…..oh excuse me, as she is now know…Bad Ass Bobbi, and the Trestle Jumpers comprised of Bobbi, Mark Kantor on lead and harp, Phil Kell on Bass and Brian White on percussion..it was a trip that should of gone on for many more hours. The next day its off to Bobbistock where Bobbi and Roger go all out on opening their homestead to us music junkies and provide nonstop entertainment with performer after performer and band after band. Folk, Americana, blues, fusion/jazz, newbies to performers that have decades under their belts…it was there for all to enjoy. Brian Spencer, Bass man for the uber rockin group Whoopy Kat that wound up (REALLY DID!) the days festivities, provided the soundcontrol and system that cleared our eardrums of all known obstructions. There were vendors and of course…food. Some of the performers are as follows..of course, Bobbi Lane, Sean Murphy, Phil Kell and the Philly Dogs, Mark Kantor and Blues Boy Revue, Everett Dumas, Pitch Black Ribbon, Stesha Cano and River Bottom Funk, Steve Bowman, Ty Openshaw, John Wood, Leachfield, Stephanie Stahre and Whoopy Kat. Good lord…isn’t it labor day 2014 yet!!??

Bobbi Lane v 9.6.13

OK, yup, I have been a very po blogger..bad blogger, bad blogger. Now that is out of the way onward and upward as they say. Tonight in Ellsworth starts a now traditional close of season weekend of great music, fun and…occasionally a cold beverage. Bobbistock weekend starts of with a quaint little train ride in Ellsworth, way up to the Lakes Lane Region, back down the tracks headed east all the way to Washington Junction. As the crow flies…well, a humming bird could cover it in about 3.8 minutes. BUT, the ride tonight will be a tad longer. Ya see, a hearty bunch of music lovers and of course multi-talented musicians from all over the place commandeer the train and for lack of better words…rock out. Upon the long arduous ride from the Junction the tradition has been to stop in swamps bordering the Ellsworth Hancock line and Rock-Out while watching the sun set and the ospreys float around. Its then back to the station to disembark, head home for a good night’s sleep in preparation for Saturdays “Bobbistock”. Now, Bobbi Lane, local uber musician/singer dynamo opens her property up and turns it into a one day wall to wall music festival, professional sound production, two stages and groups and performers that will blow your mind…its great, OK, come on 5 oclock…..
